Yogurt Mask has always been one of my favorite masks. It is easy to find, easy to use and effective! It instantly brightens up my face! It was my cousin who first told me about using yogurt as a mask long long time ago and I’ve been using it as instant pick me up since then. Yogurt mask is really simple, you can buy them at grocery store, convenient store, and almost anywhere that sells food.

All you have to do is wash your face, apply a not too thick layer onto your face (about 1-2 tablespoon) and let it sit for about 15 – 30mins depending on your skin before washing it off with water. The most important part of yogurt mask is to use regular yogurt that has fat, do not use non-fat yogurt as a mask, the result will not be noticeable or the mask won’t work at all. Personally, I prefer using yogurt that is in cream form, it is easier to apply and no dripping problem. If you can only get the regular form of yogurt, there are 2 ways around the dripping problem. First option: Lick the excess, very yummy! Especially if you use the recipe with a twist. Or, apply a thin layer of yogurt onto your face and then gently press cotton pads on top of the area where you apply yogurt and leave the cotton pads on your face until you are ready to wipe and rinse off the mask. That way, the mask will stay and it won’t drip everywhere. My other personal preference of this mask is using organic french vanilla yogurt to use as my mask because of the pleasant vanilla scent sort of like aromatherapy. After rinsing off the mask, remember to use moisturizer immediately, yogurt mask may leave your face feeling a bit tight afterwards. I recommend using this mask the night before a special event of as a quick pick me up. This is also a great mask to use while traveling because your skin won’t look tired and you have less things to carry in your luggage. Plus, you can get it at the local food store at your destination.

* Remember always to a test patch on your skin before applying it all over the face to see if your skin has allergic reaction.

Yogurt Mask with a Twist!

Here are a few twists that you can add to the original yogurt mask:

1) 1-2 drops of lemon juice and mix it with yogurt before applying, do not use too much because too much citric acid may irritate your face. Citric acid has lightening properties, making your face brighter.

2) 1-2 teaspoon of honey and mix it with yogurt before, honey will calm any inflammation in skin. Even better is to combine both lemon juice and honey =)! Honey alone can also be used alone as a mask to reduce redness.

3) 1 teaspoon of Cane or Brown sugar, if you add cane sugar with yogurt, it sort of became a natural exfoliant.

It is not ‘Crap’ like that person remarked. I use it and it works. Some people have to “complicate” everything and can not believe that something so simple and natural, (like our own bodies) can work in harmony to produce wonderful results.
Not everything has to be so complicated to work.
Thanks to the person that took the time to write the post on using yogart masks. You’re right..it’s good stuff. I use Greek Yogart…higher fat content, mixed with locally harvested honey.

Mr/Ms Osman – the only thing crap is your remark. This is honestly a fabulous remedy used by ancient Egyptians and Indians (as I am sure it is used elsewhere around the world too). It is a great way to cleanse the face as opposed to using facial products doused in chemicals and synthetic ingredients.

Its a great mask and relieves many skin ailments. Thank you kindly to the person who wrote this article and for sharing such a great healing remedy.

To the person who wrote the above comment – you should definitely learn when to keep quite.

I used a thin layer of yogurt mask on my face overnight. It really makes a difference the morning after, more than what I do in 30 minutes. Just make sure you have something on your pillow cover just in case you want to have it overnight. It also works on the underarm. 🙂

Papaya Mask to reduce wrinkles :

Mix two tablespoons of pappaya pulp with a spoonful of dry oat-meal. Apply to face and let it work for 10minutes. Wash Gently rubbing with a flannel. Eating papaya also helps since it slows the aging process and delays the appearance of wrinkles.

Every day I use organic ingredients on my face from exfoliating to moisturizing. Carefully coating my eye lids and lashes. (Keep them closed during the whole time to avoid any possibility of infection to the eye). After wards apply organic aloe gel all over including eye lids and lashes and brows. I’ve noticed a remarkable difference already. My lashes are already thickening and growing finally after all these 32 years! Every day use and patience is all you need to do. The process gets easier and faster everyday so no excuses. Lashes and eyes need more attention than we give them. (6mo down the road you won’t regret it.) STOP USING COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS LADIES UNLESS ITS ORGANIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. Savanna Says:

Currently have yogurt on my face(: I heard about this method through the youtube channel “bubzbeauty”. This is my third mask. So far, I love it! Leaves my face brighter, softer and reduces redness. Next time I am going to try the honey and lemon juice as well. So turned on to organic and home made facial products. Yogurt is great for for your hair too! Finish it off with olive on the ends to mend damaged/split ends. Hope I helped(:

This is amazing. At the beginning of the week I had a massive breakout and out of desperation I tried this. I’ve just applied it for the 3rd time this week, and already my face is the most clear and healthy looking its been in months. I also added a few drops of tea tree oil to the mix.

  21. Angelique Says:

I have been using this organic method the last 8 months after deciding to ditch the commercial ones. It is effective:) I am positively glowing thanks to the YOGHURT!

For those who have BROWN SPOTS/MELASMA:

    1. Wash your face with your preferred facial wash.

    2. Facial mask : Mixture of full cream yougurt (1tbsp.), lemon juice (1tsp.), honey (1tbsp.) for 15-20 min. Do it everyday.

    3. Facial Toner: Mixture of Apple cider vinegar (ACV) 1tbsp and 1 water (1tbsp). After 15 minutes apply Moisturizer. Do it morning and evening.

4.Don’t forget to apply Sunscreen Protection everyday.

5.Exfoliate your face weekly : Mixture of baking soda and drops of water for about 15 minutes. Wash with lukewarm water.

RESULT: In less than a month : My Melasma/brown spots start to fade noticeably, face becomes clearer and whiter. I’m really very happy for the result 🙂

NOTE: I’ve tried different expensive creams for Melasma for 2 years but only the above steps cure my melasma, LESS EXPENSIVE BUT MORE EFFECTIVE!!!

Hey thank you for the suggestion to use cotton pad, 🙂 finally i can try it out worrying ❤

  27. Maryann Says:

I’m using Plain Greek yogurt- it’s wonderfully creamy and stays put, providing you don’t over-apply. It tingles a bit from the lactic acid, which is a natural and comparatively gentle AHA (found in a ton of more expensive products than a container of yogurt!) Make sure to ALWAYS wear sunscreen when you go out after a peel or mask utilizing Alpha-Hydroxy Acids- you don’t want to reverse all the love you just gave your skin!

  28. vicky Says:

this mask do wonders if used daily.. yogurt+lemon+honey twice in a week .. and plain yogurt everyday twice-morning and night . . and obviously this tips are not for plastic person rest be sure its a magic .
